10/26/2021-Library Board-Minutes-RegularSanger Public Library Board Tuesday, October 26, 2021 MINUTES Attendees: Amanda Ford, Erica Kaufman, Judith Rodgers, Suzanne Sellers, Audrey Tolle. (No members of the public attended.) 1. The meeting was called to order at 7:16 p.m. 2. The minutes of the July 27, 2021 meeting were read. Suzanne Sellers moved to accept the minutes. Erica Kaufman seconded the motion. 3. Library Director’s Report: The Library Director discussed the need to find a new Library Board member to fill the current vacancy on the Library Board. The Director discussed library staffing changes due to staff vacancies, as well as the decision to accept volunteers from the National Honor Society. The Director addressed the ongoing effort to replace items lost during the February 2021 flood. 4. Draft of Long Range Plan 2021-2025: The results of the Community Survey for the Long Range Plan were discussed. The survey received 121 individual responses, with 71% showing support for a larger library. The Library Board discussed how best to use visual aids, such as graphs comparing similarly- situated libraries, in the Long Range Plan to show the need for a larger library facility. The results of a recent City of Sanger survey regarding future civic development in Sanger (Sanger 2040 Plan) were discussed in regard to how those results compare to the Long Range Plan survey results and how both sets of results impact the draft Long Range Plan. Updates to the Technology Plan, which is to be incorporated into the larger Long Range plan, were discussed. Final draft of the Long Range Plan 2021- 2025 is projected to be ready for approval at the next meeting of the Library Board. 5. Next Library Board meeting scheduled for November 30, 2021. 6. Suzanne Sellers moved to adjourn the meeting. Erica Kaufman seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 9:07 p.m.
