MINUTES
Attendees: Amanda Ford, Erica Kaufman, Judith Rodgers, Suzanne Sellers, Audrey Tolle. (No members of
the public attended.)
1. The meeting was called to order at 6:38 p.m.
2. The minutes of the November 30, 2021 meeting were read. Erica Kaufman moved to accept the
minutes. Amanda Ford seconded the motion.
3. Library Director’s Report: The Library Director discussed the increase in the number of programs
being offered in late 2021 and early 2022, as compared with the prior year, and updated the Board on
ongoing and future programs, both returning and new. The Director informed the Board of the
possibility of the Friends of the Library disbanding or, at the very least, reorganizing the leadership
structure to enable the organization to continue. The Friends of the Library will meet on April 19, 2022,
to continue discussion of the future of the Friends organization. The Director also discussed the hiring
and training of two new part-time employees in February.
4. Discussion of Revisions to the Library Collections Policy: The Library Director presented a proposed
revised collections policy for the Board’s approval. The existing Collection Development Policy was last
revised February 28, 2011. The Board discussed the proposed changes made to the existing policy by the
Library Director. The Board approved the revision of the policy as presented by the Library Director, with
the addition that the policy should have a written statement that the policy is to be periodically
reviewed by the Library Director. Suzanne Sellers moved to approve the revised Collection Development
Policy. Erica Kaufman seconded the motion. All Board members voted in favor of the revised policy.
5. Future meeting agenda items: The Library Director informed the Board that the donation policy for
the library should be reviewed and possibly revised at future meetings. A new Board secretary will need
to be appointed for future meetings, as the current secretary (Amanda Ford) is moving away from
Sanger and will no longer be serving on the Board.
6. The next Board meeting is scheduled for July 7, 2022, at 6:30 p.m.
7. Suzanne Sellers moved to adjourn the meeting. Erica Kaufman seconded. The meeting was adjourned
at 7:43 p.m.
